Bridget A. Bellingar, DO, FACOFP was selected as the recipient of the 2008 Osteopathic Family Physician of the Year Award by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians during opening ceremonies at the ACOFP Annual Convention.

Each
year, the FSACOFP Board accepts nominations for awards in the following
categories:
Eugene
R. DeLucia, DO, FACOFP, Humanitarian Award
This award is to publicly acknowledge exemplary and selfless services
to others in the profession or from the community at large. This
award need not be given on an annual basis.
Family
Physician of the Year
Chosen annually from a list of nominees submitted to the Board of
Directors. He/she must be a member in good standing of both the
Florida Society American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians
and the National ACOFP.
Distinguished
Service Award
Given to an individual who has given of themselves to the support
of the profession in an outstanding and exemplary way above the
call of duty. This award may be a lay person as well as a physician.
Donald
McBath, DO, FACOFP, Lifetime Achievement Award
The candidate must be a member in good standing of the FSACOFP for
a minimum of ten consecutive years prior to nomination. The candidate
must have been in active practice or in a teaching position for
a minimum of ten years in the State of Florida.
Samuel
J. Salman Award in Family Medicine
The
Samuel J. Salman Award in Family Medicine is presented by the Florida
Society of ACOFP to the student whose scholarship, patient empathy,
dedication, concern and goals epitomize the osteopathic family physician
as exemplified by the late Samuel J. Salman, D.O.
The
award (plaque & $500) is presented to the recipient by the Chair
of the NSU Department of Family Medicine at the NSU-COM Graduation
Banquet.
